My Fall Trend Roundup
Updated: Oct 4

If you've followed along with me for a while, you know that I love to share what I feel are the most wearable trends - particularly in fall and spring. Not because I feel we should be mindlessly or excessively adding more to our wardrobes, but because I think it's important to stay current in what we are wearing. This way we can avoid getting to the point where we feel like we need to start from scratch.
I've spent the last few weeks doing A LOT of research and have rounded up what I feel are the most wearable and overarching trends out there at the moment. My hope is that you will already have similar pieces in your wardrobes, and you may be inspired to re-style them this season. Or, you'll learn about something that you LOVE that can inject a little modernity into your wardrobe, but you will continue to wear beyond its trend moment.
Fall 2026 Colour Trends
I absolutely love following colour trends as colour never goes out of style. If there is a hue that is having a moment and it speaks to you - now is the time to wear it, but it will never look dated!
Here's a roundup inspired by colour pairings seen on the Fall/Winter runways and the Pantone NYFW Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 colour palette. Pantone is the global authority on colour for the design industries (side note: I was lucky enough to attend a colour workshop from Pantone's Executive Director while I was taking a style workshop with Stacy London in NYC in 2012 - hearing that talk about the power of colour was so inspirational!).
Trending colours this Fall:
Green Envy (chartreuse)
Pantone is calling chartreuse (which is a very versatile fall green), Green Envy. Its a bold colour that pairs beautifully with everything from navy, to burgundy to brown. Reminder: if any colours don't work best on you right next to your face, you can incorporate them (if you love them) in other ways through bottoms, footwear or accessories.
Brown is the new black
Brown has become a more interesting alternative to black that proves to be just as versatile. This is not new, it's been with us the past few seasons and is still going strong - yay!
Spiced Shades
From orange, to red to burgundy, spiced shades are synonymous with the fall season. Two of Pantone's colours, Arabian Spice, an orange cognac brown and Red Mahogany, a deep brown burgundy, are examples of the season's spiced shades.
Regal Purple
Deep royal purple is emerging as one of this season's hottest hues. The deep purple is cool toned and saturated, symbolizing royalty and luxury. It pairs beautifully with red as shown in the look above. Similarly, we'll be seeing lots of cobalt blue this season which also adds that dose of energy.
All Aboard: Blue
Turquoise and Pantone's new blue hue, All Aboard, was a bit of a surprise for this season as it adds a more spring-like feeling to the Fall/Winter season. I always love something a little unexpected especially when paired with more traditional fall-like colours.
Seasonless Shades
Pantone describes the season's neutrals as seasonless shades. They encompass rich hues that pair perfectly together or with some of the season's standout shades. This year you'll find navy and indigo rise in popularity (side note here: dark denim is very "in" this season), as well as a warm medium brown (toffee). Pantone's seasonless shades also include a warm cream, light tan, candied ginger and soft grey.
Trend Update:
This look feels like a good one to kick us off for fall trends as it encompasses quite a few all at once! The lace on the cami signals the "modern romance" vibes we'll be seeing a lot of this season, the rich burgundy tones, power suiting silhouettes (jackets worn as tops is also a big trend at the moment!) and accessories to add personality and polish. Sleek leather gloves are having a moment and can be a fun and easy fashion addition. We're seeing sculptural accessories and the rise of fashionable eyewear.
After doing a lot of research: on-line, webinars, magazines etc. I've summarized what I feel are the most predominant and perhaps wearable trends worth having on the radar. And, hopefully you will already have some pieces that align. (if you want to see more complete visuals for each these, you can find lots of inspo out there on your favourite retailer sites, social media etc. - or join my style club!).
What I've been seeing...
Fringe adding movement and texture to otherwise simple shapes. We're seeing it in accessories, in tops, hems of dresses etc.
Peplum returns as a fresh way to give familiar pieces more shape. We're seeing it in tops and jackets.
Power dressing eludes confidence through tailoring. We're seeing strong shoulders and shaped waists give familiar pieces presence, yet we are also seeing some softer fabrics to keep the mood from feeling too rigid.
Heritage Remixed gives traditional dressing a fresh point of view through tweed, checks, jacquard prints and tailored pieces. Pairing with unexpected fabrics, fresh colour combinations, and layering make these classics feel more personal and updated.
Modern Romance brings softness with a stronger sense of character for this Fall. Lace, ruffles, bows, and floral details feel expressive rather than simply delicate, especially when mixed with more structured or sporty pieces.
Animal prints bring boldness to this season. Leopard spots and other animal-inspired markings such as zebra, tiger, cheetah or snakeskin work as the focal point of a look, especially when paired with simpler pieces.
Asymmetrical hems bring a sense of interest and movement. We are seeing lots of skirts tops and dresses incorporating some form of asymmetry in the silhouette.
Fur and fur-effect textures bring softness, volume, and a touch of glamour.
Denim: we'll be diving a little deeper over the upcoming weeks in my Style Club to all things denim, but it's important to note that dark-wash denim is having a real moment as are brown jeans. We're seeing some fun volume in balloon styles (for my more fashion-y friends) as well as culottes.

There is definitely a style aesthetic, silhouette, texture, print or accessory for everyone. I'd love to know if any in particular speak to or intrigue you! And, if when you are shopping your closet to find pieces that may align, you realize you are due for an edit or could benefit from a styling service - please reach out. I have a few appointment times available for sessions in October.
Wishing you a fabulous fall season!
Lori
