"One man's style must not be the rule of another's." - Jane Austen

Style communicates who we are, how we feel about ourselves and the world around us.  I created Stylesmarts to help people fill their closets with clothing that makes them look and feel amazing.

Your wardrobe should match your lifestyle, personality and contain pieces you love to wear!  I teach the tools to help you achieve your personal style; empowering you to look and feel your best on any budget.

I'm also a lover of quotes and this one sums up my wardrobe building philosophy:

"Buy less, choose well, and mix it all up" - Vivienne Westwood

I'd love to help you with that!

As a young girl she could often be found styling her dolls, creating designs with her fashion plates, or trying to convince her parents that she needed a new outfit.  Drawn to the education profession because of her love of learning and social nature, Lori received her B Ed and UBC followed by a Masters of Language and Literacy.

Lori’s love of fashion and style served her well when it came to building a professional wardrobe.  Over time, she discovered she had a knack for creating outfits that reflected her personality, but also transitioned to life outside the classroom.  Often asked to accompany others on shopping excursions, Lori realized she could combine her teaching skills and love of style to help people create wardrobes full of clothing they love to wear.  This idea led her to New York City where she trained as a Style Consultant at the Image Resource Center of New York.  Following that certification, Lori had the incredible opportunity to return to NYC to take part in the Style For Hire intensive Stylist training program, designed and facilitated by Stacy London of TLC’s What Not To Wear.

A lifelong learner, Lori continues to educate herself in order to best serve her clients.  Other notable coursework includes:  Menswear Training with Samantha Brown in NYC, coursework with The Paid Stylist, Masterclasses with the Personal Stylist Network and continued education with Carol Davidson, master stylist and FIT instructor in New York City.

Lori feels so fortunate to share her love of literacy with her students in her work as a teacher-librarian AND that she is able to also share her passion for personal style with her clients.  We all need to get dressed, her goal is to make it a little easier...and a lot more fun!

Together, we'll create a wardrobe that's smart, with style. Like you!
