"One man's style must not be the rule of another's." - Jane Austen

Style communicates who we are, how we feel about ourselves and the world around us.  I created Stylesmarts to help people fill their closets with clothing that makes them look and feel amazing.

Your wardrobe should match your lifestyle, personality and contain pieces you love to wear!  I teach the tools to help you achieve your personal style; empowering you to look and feel your best on any budget.

I'm also a lover of quotes and this one sums up my wardrobe building philosophy:

"Buy less, choose well, and mix it all up" - Vivienne Westwood

I'd love to help you with that!

As a young girl she could often be found styling her dolls, creating designs with her fashion plates, or trying to convince her parents that she needed a new outfit. Drawn to the education profession because of her love of learning and social nature, Lori received her B Ed at UBC followed by a Masters of Language and Literacy.

Lori's love of fashion and style served her well when it came to building a professional wardrobe. She discovered she had a knack for creating outfits that reflected her personal style but also transitioned to life outside the classroom. Often asked to accompany others on shopping excursions, Lori realized she could combine her teaching skills and love of fashion to help individuals create wardrobes full of clothing they love to wear.  This idea led her to New York City where she trained as a Style Consultant at the Image Resource Center of New York.  Following that certification, Lori had the incredible opportunity to return to NYC to take part in Style For Hire's intensive Stylist training program, designed and facilitated by Stacy London of TLC's What Not To Wear.  In August 2012 Lori assisted NYC Image Consultant, Carol Davidson style outfits for a fall fashion show at Macy's flagship store in New York.

While taking additional Menswear training with fashion expert and stylist Samantha Brown (NYC, 2015), Lori was introduced to Hue and Stripe - a platform she now uses exclusively with all clients.  This technology has been transformative as it enables the creation of a virtual closet, personalized lookbooks, and visual shopping lists.

In addition to teaching in an Elementary school library (librarians can have and appreciate style!) and working with Stylesmarts clients, Lori is thrilled to have had opportunities to volunteer with Dress For Success and the Cinderella Project.

Together, we'll create a wardrobe that's smart, with style. Like you!
